William Was born in New Castle Delaware and was moving his family from Edgefield South Carolina to Sevier County Tennessee when he died in 1803 and his wife Martha and his children finished this journey becoming one of the founding families of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Their cabin still stands today as a historic memorial to this Family.
