When Stiers Melvin Huskey was born in 1856 in Sevier, Tennessee, his father, Billie, was 32 and his mother, Barbara, was 39. He married Mary Ann Lowe and they had three children together. He also had three sons and three daughters from another relationship. He died on September 9, 1897, in his hometown at the age of 41.
