The Surry families around 1760 started moving south including John.s father and mother. They died in Halifax County, North Carolina John's 1st wife was out of what now is Rowan County, North Carolina and some records though scant indicate she died form complications from childbirth having Moses in 1805. No name yet only 1 notation but did not show her name.
Census records show John living alone and widowed age 91 in Union Point, Georgia in1840. Union Point was orignally called Scruggsville. Records fom Georgia indicate Talitha died in 1839 but not solid.
We have traced the line to Richard Parton 1523 & Emaline Richardson 1525, Wem, Shropshire, England. It is one of the oldest lines in the U.S. coming through Isle of Wight, Virginia
This is a different Parton family that gets connected in error with John Parton of Tennessee.

The first recorded Partine,(Partain,Parton, Partin) to land in America.
The first recorded Partine,(Partain,Parton, Partin) to land in America. He sailed to America on "The Blessing" in June 1609 to James City, VA. He had 2 indentured servants, Thomas Hayle, 20 who sailed over on the "George" in 1623, and Ellen Cook, 25, who sailed over on the "London Merchant" in 1620. Robert Partine had a Patents Granted for 150 acres at Charles City, VA in 1626, but due to hardships of those early years, some how lost it by 1630. On Nov 23,1637, he leased 40 acres near Eliz City County VA, near the Great house of Widow Thompson land, bound East by the same, by the South on the Fort Field, West on land of Robert Brasheare, fee rent yearly 1 barrel of sound sweet Indian corn, provided during term he shall sufficiently people and plant said land. The last known entry for Robert and Margaret was in 1666 in Charles City, VA where David Lluellin had purchased 63 acs. of Shirley Hundred by Robert Partin , Srnow 70 years old and Robert Partin, Jr, now 44 years old.
"New World Immigrants #1 " by Tepper page 88 where Robert Partin bought a maid servant name Dorothy Scott for 12 pounds of tobacco on April 26, 1637. She came on the ship "Trisamt Jane"which left England in the late 1636.

Pursuant to a letter from John Robinson, secretary of the Treasury, December 8, 1773, customs officials in England and Scotland supplied lists of persons who took passage on ships leaving Great Britain during the years 1773-1776, giving names, ages, quality, occupation, employment, former residence, reasons for emigrating, and the name of the vessel and master. These records, somewhat incomplete as now preserved in the Public Record Office of Great Britain under the classification Treasury Class 47, Bundles 9-12, contain many thousands of names and important information on a remarkable 'population movement which was of great significance to America and of arresting attention to the landed and manufacturing interests and the government of Great Britain They have been printed in part in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register (1908- 1911).
The largest group consisted of indented servants bound for New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia and the next largest, of emigrants sailing from ports in northern England to Nova Scotia, Virginia, and New York. The emigration practically ceased after September, 1775. the movement from Scotland was due chiefly to the oppressive rent policy of the Highland proprietors and middlemen of the region extending from Ayr County to the Shetland Islands. A traveler on an emigrant ship in 1774 wrote: "It is needless to make any comment on the conduct of our Highland and Island proprietors. It is self evident what. consequences must be produced in time from such numbers of subjects being driven from the country." Should levies be again necessary,. the recruiting drum may long be at a loss to procure such soldiers as are now aboard this vessel."

Just about 1847/48, Albert Huskey and his family migrated to Gilmer County, Georgia near Copperhill Tennessee. James Ownby and his family, and Jacob Evans and his wife joined them. They appeared in the 1850 Federal Census of Gilmer County, Georgia.
It is believed that Albert Huskey and his family migrated again to Missouri after the 1850 Federal Census was taken. It is believed that Albert and his wife, Jane Reagan, are buried in the state of Missouri or Arkansas.
The missing *Reagan*...could it be she/he is related to Jane? ..Is Reagan a first name or last?

Isaac Huskey went with his parents to Wilkes County, Georgia and later to Ninety Six District, Edgefield County, South Carolina.
Isaac Huskey and his wife Jane Miller are listed in the 1790 Federal Census of Edgefield County, South Carolina.
On 5 Dec 1796 Isaac Huskey bought 257 acres of land from the state of South Carolina. It was located in the "District of Ninety Six in Edgefield County on the waters of Steven's Creek, waters of Savannah River." It joined the lands of Obediah Henerson, William Anderson, William Rowens and ________ Mundays.
On 27 July 1798 Isaac Huskey bought 100 acres of land from Moses Brafford of Edgefield District, South Carolina. This land was situated on "Rockey Creek, waters of Savannah River" and joined the lands of Jonathan Huskey, Joseph Able, and Wyatt Morris.
On 6 Dec 1798 Isaac Huskey sold 140 acres of the original 257 acres of land, which he received from the state of South Carolina in 1796, to James Smith of Edgefield District, South Carolina.
On 15 Nov 1800 Isaac Huskey sold 50 acres of land to Wyatt Morris. This land joined the lands of Peter Huskey, Wyatt Morris, and Jonathan Huskey.
No record of the remaining 167 acres has been found, but it is believed that Isaac Huskey sold this land before leaving in 1804. In 1804 he came with the Huskey and the Ogle clans from Edgefield District, South Carolina To settle in the Walden's Creek and Wear's Valley area of Sevier County, Tennessee.
There are numerous land grants for Isaac Huskey in Tennessee State Library and Archives, Nashville, Tennessee.
One early grant was surveyed 24 July 1806 and granted 12 June 1810:
"...a certain tract or parcel of land containing Twenty five acres and two
Roods lying in the County of Sevier in the District South of French Broad
and Holsont on the water of the west fork of Little Pigeon River there being
due and chargeable on said land the sum of Twenty five Dollars and fifty
Cents with the Interest due thereon."
It joined vacant land and Richard McBryant's land in the Wear's Valley of Sevier County, Tennessee.
Isaac Huskey made seven land entries dated from 1 May 1824 through 3 Apr 1835 in the Surveyor's Book N. 1 of Sevier County, Tennessee (Register of Deeds Office). These land entries by Isaac Huskey were located in the area where the Twins Creek picnic area is now, and a part of the Cherokee Orchard and the Sugarlands (all now a part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park). This was the homeplace where Isaac and his wife Jane Miller lived until their death.
In 1813 Isaac Huskey and his eldest son, James Huskey, signed a petition to the General Assemby of Tennessee from the French Broad and Holston Country. (The original petition is in Tennessee State Library and Archives, Nashville, TN.)
Isaac Huskey and his wife, Jane Miller, appeared in the 1830 and 1840 Federal Census of Sevier County, Tennessee.
From the GUARDIANS, EXECUTORS & ADMINISTRATORS Settlement Book for Sevier County, Tennessee, there is a record of settlement of the estate of Isaac Huskey. Evidently William Huskey was appointed as administrator by County Court in late 1840's. He continued to handle the affairs of his father's estate until 28 Feb 1860, last recorded entry before William Huskey's death in 1861. From the aforesaid book, there is a list of the heirs of Isaac Huskey who had not received their shares from the estate. They are listed in this order: "Peter Huskey's Share, James Huskey's Share, Isaac Huskey's Share, Joshua Reagan's Share, and Silas Huskey's Share." They were living out west (Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas) at that time.

Albert Huskey came with his parents from South Carolina to Sevier County, Tennessee as a small boy in 1805.
Albert Huskey and his brother, John Huskey, had one land entry made jointly on 11 Dec 1826 in the Surveyor's Book No. 1 of Sevier County, Tennessee. This land (25 acres) was located in the Sugarlands, part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Albert Huskey has another land entry dated 25 Dec 1832 in the Surveyor's Book No. 1 of Sevier County, Tennessee. This land (50 acres) was also located in the Sugarlands, part of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These two land entries were granted by the state of Tennessee.
They lived in the Sugarlands area and the Mill Creek area. They appeared in the 1830 Federal Census of Sevier County, Tennessee.
In 1834, Albert Huskey and his family migrated to Madison County, Missouri to join the families of Joshua Reagan and Timothy Reagan Jr.
In the Madison County, Missouri Deed Book 6, page 292/93, there is recorded a deed for land sold by Albert Huskey and his wife, Jane Huskey..."This indenture made and executed this 12th day of March 1836 between Albert Huskey and Jane Huskey, his wife, Madison County, Missouri and Benjamin Heltebrand...S.E. 1/4 of N.W. 1/4 Section 21, Township 33 N, Range 8 East...40 acres. Albert Huskey entered at the land office at Jackson, Missouri on the 10th of November 1834 as appears by the duplicate no. 1951." It was signed by Albert Huskey and his wife, Jane Huskey.
For some reason, Albert Huskey and his family came back to Sevier County, Tennessee prior to 1839. In 1839, Albert joined the White Oak Flats Baptist Church "by experience". They also appeared in the 1840 Federal Census of Sevier County, Tennessee. In 1845, they were again in Sevier County, Tennessee probably because of illness and death in his and his wife's families. Julia Ann Shutz Reagan, mother of Jane, died in April of 1845. Isaac Huskey Sr. died sometime in 1846.
On Oct 1846, Albert Huskey and his wife received their letter of dismissal from the White Oak Flats Baptist Church.
Just about 1847/48, Albert Huskey and his family migrated to Gilmer County, Georgia near Copperhill Tennessee. James Ownby and his family, and Jacob Evans and his wife joined them. They appeared in the 1850 Federal Census of Gilmer County, Georgia.
It is believed that Albert Huskey and his family migrated again to Missouri after the 1850 Federal Census was taken. It is believed that Albert and his wife, Jane Reagan, are buried in the state of Missouri or Arkansas.

Still currently working to find more documentations to prove the family tradition(s) in Huskeys of Sevier County, Tennessee that they are "Kin" to Cherokee Indians. Also I have recently discovered the Cherokee Indian records at U. S. Archives in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas that Huskeys in Sevier County, Tennessee in 1896 have filed to apply for an citizenship in Cherokee Indians Nation. All citizenship application papers by various Huskey families, various Whaley families, and Ogle families of Sevier County, Tennessee have been rejected by Dawes Commission in late 1890's for unknown reason. But sworn statements in the citizenship application papers have strongly supported and verified the family traditions in the Huskey family history that I am currently updating. The Huskeys, Whaleys and Ogles who filed for the citizenship in Cherokee Indians Nation are children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of pioneer settlers who came to White Oak Flats (now Gatlinburg, Tennessee), Sevier County, Tennessee in early 1800's from Edgefield County, 96th District, South Carolina.
I am inclined to believe that PETER HUSKEY Sr. was truly an Scotch-Irish man and an Indian trader with Cherokee Indians Nation in 18th Century (1700's). Was his wife an "one-half Cherokee Indians by Blood"? If so, then I would like to have a record about it. This PETER HUSKEY Sr. and his family were living in Frederick County, Virginia and Rowan County, North Carolina during that time.
The children of PETER HUSKEY Sr. were, indeed, "one-fourth Cherokee Indian by Blood" per sworn statements in citizenship application papers.
For the family history on the children of PETER HUSKEY Sr., it can be located in two genealogical publications, SMOKY MOUNTAIN CLANS, Volume 1, Revised Edition, and THE BOOK OF RAGAN/REAGAN.
Will appreciate in hearing about this "interesting" Cherokee Indians ancestry in the Huskey, Whaley, and Ogle families of Sevier County, Tennessee.

Martha Jane Huskey Ogle was part Indian. Note: I didn't say that
After the death of William, Martha took her five sons and two daughters for a short visit with relatives in Virginia. Her brother, Peter Huskey, and his family then accompanied them on their long trip to the East Tennessee area to establish their home.
They were in the Sevier County, Tennessee as early as 1805. There is a record in Tennessee State Library and Archives that shows Hercules and Thomas Ogle sold land to William Murphy in 1807. This land was situated in the area of "mouth of Walden's Creek" in Sevier County, Tennessee.
On 19 January 1811, Martha Ogle, "relict of William Ogle" and her sons relinquished to James Atchison of Edgefield County, South Carolina their claim on the property that William Ogle had bought from George Hagood in 1796. This deed of conveyance was recorded in Deed Book 31, p 291/92 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.
According to the church minutes of "Fork of Little Pigeon Church", Martha Ogle was the one of the group of people from White Oak Flats Community that asked the Fork of Little Pigeon Church to establish a church in White Oak Flats as an arm of the church in Sevierville in December 1817.
Sometime between December 1817 to July 1826, Martha Ogle died and was buried in Gatlinburg, Tennessee behind Hays House Restaurant.
Some researchers claim her given name should not include Jane.

Peter Huskey lived in the vicinity of Back Creek in Frederick County during the
early 1750's thru mid-1750's. During that time, he was the chain carrier for
four different land surveys there.
Sometime during the mid-1750's, Peter Huskey and his family moved to Rowan
County, North Carolina. They settled in the area where southern Guilford County
and northern Randolph County are now located.
He was found along with his son John Huskey on the "William Millikan's List of
Taxables" for Rowan County, North Carolina in 1768.
Family tradition says his first wife was killed by Indians. No information has
been found to verify this.
Peter Huskey Sr., was found on the 1778 tax list for Captain Cox's District in
Rowan County, North Carolina. His land was valued at 142 pounds. His son
Peter Huskey Jr. was listed on the same tax list, and his land was valued at
202 pounds.
On Saturday, 8 August 1778, Peter Huskey was listed as a "nonjuror" in Captain
Cox's District of Rowan County, North Carolina. He refused to take the "Oath
of Affirmation and Allegiance" to the State of North Carolina.
In 1785 Peter Huskey and his family were living in Wilkes County, Georgia near
his brother-in-law, William Ogle and his family according to "1785 Tax List of
Wilkes County, Georgia." Six District, Edgefield County, South Carolina prior
to 1790. Peter Huskey is listed as the head of household in 1790 and 1800
Federal Census of Edgefield County, South Carolina.
On 28 Oct 1797 Peter Huskey and his son Jonathan Huskey of Edgefield District,
South Carolina bought 200 acres of land from William McCarter of Abbeville
District, South Carolina. This land was originally patented to William
McCarter on 6 Nov 1786 from the state of South Carolina. It was situated in
the "District of Ninety Six and County of Edgefield on a creek called Rockey
Creek waters of Stephens Creek." (Deed Book 22, p 265/66)
On 6 July 1801 Peter Huskey bought 24.5 acres of land from the state of South
Carolina. It was situated in "District of Edgefield on a small branch of
Rockey Creek, waters of Stephen Creek and Savannah River." (South Carolina
State Archives, Columbia, S. C. - State Plats Vol. 38 (2nd), p 359)
On 30 Sep 1801 Peter Huskey bought 289 acres of land from William Brafford of
Barnwell District, South Carolina. This land was on "Rockey Creek waters of
Stephens Creek" in Edgefield District, South Carolina." (Deed Book 22,
p 275/77)
It is believed that Peter Huskey sold his lands before leaving for Sevier
County, Tennessee in 1804. In 1805 Peter Huskey brought his married children
(Isaac, Jonathan, John, Sarah, and two other daughters) with the Ogle clan from
Edgefield District, South Carolina to settle in the Walden's Creek area of
Sevier County, Tennessee.
In 1805 Peter Huskey entered 57 acres of land in the Emert's Cove area of
Sevier County, Tennessee and held it for a short time. From Tennessee State
Library & Archives, Nashville, Tennessee, there is a land grant (No. 1815) for
Frederick Emert, assignee of Peter Huskey. By this grant, Peter Huskey sold
the 57 acres of land in the Emert's Cove area to Frederick Emert prior to the
issuance of the land grant from the state of Tennessee in 1806.
Prior to the War of 1812, Peter Huskey went with some of his married children
to Union County, Illinois and then to Jefferson County, Missouri.
Family tradition says Peter Huskey came back from the West (Union County,
Illinois or Jefferson County, Missouri) and died in the White Oak Flats
community. He probably died before 1830. He is not listed in the 1830 Federal
Census of Tennessee, Illinois, or Missouri. No data on his burial place has
been found.

After the death of William, Martha took her five sons and two daughters for a short visit with relatives in Virginia. Her brother, Peter Huskey, and his family then accompanied them on their long trip to the East Tennessee area to establish their home.
They were in the Sevier County, Tennessee as early as 1805. There is a record in Tennessee State Library and Archives that shows Hercules and Thomas Ogle sold land to William Murphy in 1807. This land was situated in the area of "mouth of Walden's Creek" in Sevier County, Tennessee.
On 19 January 1811, Martha Ogle, "relict of William Ogle" and her sons relinquished to James Atchison of Edgefield County, South Carolina their claim on the property that William Ogle had bought from George Hagood in 1796. This deed of conveyance was recorded in Deed Book 31, p 291/92 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.
According to the church minutes of "Fork of Little Pigeon Church", Martha Ogle was the one of the group of people from White Oak Flats Community that asked the Fork of Little Pigeon Church to establish a church in White Oak Flats as an arm of the church in Sevierville in December 1817.
Sometime between December 1817 to July 1826, Martha Ogle died and was buried in Gatlinburg, Tennessee behind Hays House Restaurant.
Some researchers claim her given name should not include Jane.

Peter Huskey lived in the vicinity of Back Creek in Frederick County during the
early 1750's thru mid-1750's. During that time, he was the chain carrier for
four different land surveys there.
Sometime during the mid-1750's, Peter Huskey and his family moved to Rowan
County, North Carolina. They settled in the area where southern Guilford County
and northern Randolph County are now located.
He was found along with his son John Huskey on the "William Millikan's List of
Taxables" for Rowan County, North Carolina in 1768.
Family tradition says his first wife was killed by Indians. No information has
been found to verify this.
Peter Huskey Sr., was found on the 1778 tax list for Captain Cox's District in
Rowan County, North Carolina. His land was valued at 142 pounds. His son
Peter Huskey Jr. was listed on the same tax list, and his land was valued at
202 pounds.
On Saturday, 8 August 1778, Peter Huskey was listed as a "nonjuror" in Captain
Cox's District of Rowan County, North Carolina. He refused to take the "Oath
of Affirmation and Allegiance" to the State of North Carolina.
In 1785 Peter Huskey and his family were living in Wilkes County, Georgia near
his brother-in-law, William Ogle and his family according to "1785 Tax List of
Wilkes County, Georgia." Six District, Edgefield County, South Carolina prior
to 1790. Peter Huskey is listed as the head of household in 1790 and 1800
Federal Census of Edgefield County, South Carolina.
On 28 Oct 1797 Peter Huskey and his son Jonathan Huskey of Edgefield District,
South Carolina bought 200 acres of land from William McCarter of Abbeville
District, South Carolina. This land was originally patented to William
McCarter on 6 Nov 1786 from the state of South Carolina. It was situated in
the "District of Ninety Six and County of Edgefield on a creek called Rockey
Creek waters of Stephens Creek." (Deed Book 22, p 265/66)
On 6 July 1801 Peter Huskey bought 24.5 acres of land from the state of South
Carolina. It was situated in "District of Edgefield on a small branch of
Rockey Creek, waters of Stephen Creek and Savannah River." (South Carolina
State Archives, Columbia, S. C. - State Plats Vol. 38 (2nd), p 359)
On 30 Sep 1801 Peter Huskey bought 289 acres of land from William Brafford of
Barnwell District, South Carolina. This land was on "Rockey Creek waters of
Stephens Creek" in Edgefield District, South Carolina." (Deed Book 22,
p 275/77)
It is believed that Peter Huskey sold his lands before leaving for Sevier
County, Tennessee in 1804. In 1805 Peter Huskey brought his married children
(Isaac, Jonathan, John, Sarah, and two other daughters) with the Ogle clan from
Edgefield District, South Carolina to settle in the Walden's Creek area of
Sevier County, Tennessee.
In 1805 Peter Huskey entered 57 acres of land in the Emert's Cove area of
Sevier County, Tennessee and held it for a short time. From Tennessee State
Library & Archives, Nashville, Tennessee, there is a land grant (No. 1815) for
Frederick Emert, assignee of Peter Huskey. By this grant, Peter Huskey sold
the 57 acres of land in the Emert's Cove area to Frederick Emert prior to the
issuance of the land grant from the state of Tennessee in 1806.
Prior to the War of 1812, Peter Huskey went with some of his married children
to Union County, Illinois and then to Jefferson County, Missouri.
Family tradition says Peter Huskey came back from the West (Union County,
Illinois or Jefferson County, Missouri) and died in the White Oak Flats
community. He probably died before 1830. He is not listed in the 1830 Federal
Census of Tennessee, Illinois, or Missouri. No data on his burial place has
been found.
